Dog Officer

The primary function of the Dog Control Officer pertains to the enforcement of the Dog Control Bylaw.  The Wayland Dog Officer can be reached @ (508) 358-3625.  The role of the dog officer is varied, but includes licensing, investigation of citizen dog complaints, dog and control law enforcement, and apprehension and impoundment of all stray and unleashed dogs found roaming at large.  More information on the Dog Officer can be found here on the Town of Wayland Website.

Animal Control Officer

The Animal Control Officer is appointed by the Board of Health and the Massachusetts (State) Division of Animal Health for the purpose of removing dead animals (raccoons, skunks, squirrels, cats, etc.) from public ways. Report to the Board of Health at 508-358-3617.

Dead Birds

All reports of dead birds should be made to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (M.D.P.H.) @ (866) 627-7968.  The M.D.P.H. also maintains a Web Page with information on dead birds.  Simply click on the blue hyperlink to be forwarded.
